Waterville Valley Elementary School Curriculum

As a small school spanning nine grades, WVES has a unique multi-age classroom environment. The classes are divide into three groups: Kindergarten through Second Grade, Third through Fifth Grade, and Sixth through Eighth Grade.

Mathematics and reading are grouped by students' level. Social studies and science are taught on a rotating annual basis within the class groups to ensure that all students are exposed to required coursework over a three-year period.

Waterville Valley Elementary School participates in an innovative science curriculum offered by the Rey Center, Curious School Kids.

WVES enjoys relatively small class sizes, and students receive a great deal of individual attention. It is in many ways an ideal learning environment.

Monthly Meeting

WVES has a wonderful tradition: a monthly morning meeting, open to parents and friends, on the last Friday of each month. All students participate in presentations, performances, and more -- a special kind of experience that makes WVES graduates remarkably poised and confident in public speaking situations.

Each month, one student is chosen as the Student of the Month, and one parent is selected as Volunteer of the Month.
